Ingredients
Step 1 — Caramel and custard
- 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
- 5 eggs
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Caramelize
Melt ½ cup sugar in a flan mold until amber. Swirl to coat. Cool.

Bake custard
Blend eggs, milks, vanilla, and remaining sugar. Pour into mold. Bake in a water bath at 350°F for 45–50 minutes until set.

Unmold
Chill overnight. Run a knife around edges, invert onto a plate to release caramel sauce.
