Ingredients
Step 1 — Custard
- 4 cups whole milk
- ½ cup semolina
- 4 egg yolks
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Zest of 1 lemon
Step 2 — Phyllo and syrup
- 1 package phyllo
- 1 cup butter (melted)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- Honey
- Lemon juice
- Cinnamon stick
Instructions

Make custard
Heat milk and whisk in semolina until thick. Temper in yolks, sugar, vanilla, and zest.

Assemble
Layer buttered phyllo in a pan. Spread custard. Top with more phyllo. Score and bake at 350°F until golden.

Syrup
Pour warm syrup over hot pastry. Cool completely before serving.
