Step 1 — Coffee cream
- 2 tbsp instant coffee
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 cup cold heavy cream or whipped topping

- 8–10 slices store-bought sponge or pound cake
- Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings (for topping)

Dissolve instant coffee in hot water. Whisk in honey until smooth. Let cool 2 minutes. Whip with cold heavy cream (or fold into whipped topping) until thick and fluffy.

Cut cake into cubes. In glasses or a trifle dish, alternate layers of cake and coffee cream, ending with cream on top.
