Step 1 — Prep the potatoes
- 3 large russet potatoes
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp paprika
- Cold water (for soaking)

Soak and dry the potatoes
Peel potatoes (or leave skin on) and cut into ¼-inch sticks. Soak in cold water for 15-30 minutes — this removes excess starch for crispier fries. Drain and dry completely with paper towels.

Season and air fry
Toss dried fries with oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Preheat air fryer to 380°F. Cook fries in a single layer for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes, until golden and crispy. Do not overcrowd the basket. Work in batches if needed.
