Ingredients
Step 1 — Cook the pasta
- 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
- Salted water (for boiling)
Step 2 — Make the garlic butter sauce
- 6 tbsp butter
- 6 garlic cloves (minced)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- ¼ cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- Salt and pepper to taste

Cook the pasta
Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.

Make the garlic butter sauce
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook 1-2 minutes until garlic is golden and fragrant — watch carefully, garlic burns fast. Add Italian seasoning. Toss in drained pasta. Add pasta water a little at a time, tossing to create an emulsified sauce. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
