Korean Ground Beef Bowl
Sweet and savory Korean-inspired ground beef over steamed rice in 20 minutes. This is one of the most popular weeknight dinners for a reason — it's cheap, fast, and insanely good.

Ingredients
Step 1 — Make the Korean sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
Step 2 — Cook the beef
- 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Step 3 — Serve
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 3 green onions (sliced)
- Sesame seeds
- Cucumber slices
- Shredded carrots

Make the Korean sauce
Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, and rice vinegar. Set aside.

Cook the beef
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Drain excess fat. Pour sauce over the beef and cook 2-3 minutes, stirring, until sauce coats the meat and thickens slightly.

Serve
Divide rice into bowls. Top with Korean beef. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, cucumber, and shredded carrots.
